These words describe Greek Chicken Pitas. I really can’t say enough positive things about this recipe because it really is THAT good!!

I have no idea where I originally came up with this meal. Maybe I saw it online or in a cooking magazine or from a friend. I’ve been making it for about six years now & my whole family loves it!

Kids especially love this meal because they like to serve themselves & they can pick & choose what they want in their pita.

Ok let’s get to the recipe!!

Greek Chicken Pitas

Marinated chicken breasts – see marinade recipe below

Pita bread

Halved cherry tomatoes

Diced cucumbers

Diced red onion

Feta cheese


Kakamata olives or kalamata olive spread (Trader Joes)

Marinated chicken breasts:

  • chicken breasts
  • 1 cup yogurt
  • 3 T olive oil
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • zest of one lemon

Mix all ingredients together in a 9×13 baking dish. Add chicken breasts & let marinade 2-3 hours.


Grill chicken until cooked through & no longer pink. Discard marinade.

Heat pitas until warm.

Chop up chicken & place on serving plate.

Place tomatoes, cucumbers, onion, & feta on serving plate.

Serve hummus & kalamata olives on the side.


Now the fun part!!

Each person take a warm pita, fill it with toppings,  fold over, & eat!!
